State testing will begin tomorrow, Thursday April 20th. Both 7th and 8th grade students will be participating in the CAASPP testing. Students will test through their 1st period class, so be sure to come to school on time and prepared with your fully charged Chromebooks and charger. El Distrito Escolar Unificado de Hesperia ofrece un curso de estudio sobre salud sexual para estudiantes de secundaria. Este plan de estudios se enseñará a través de la clase de ciencias de 7º grado de su hijo, de quien el jefe del departamento estará disponible para responder cualquier pregunta en la reunión preliminar de padres el 5/2 @ 3:30 pm en la biblioteca de CMS. Todos los estudiantes recibirán una carta para llevar a casa a sus padres esta semana con más información sobre este tema. Si tiene inquietudes con respecto a la participación de su hijo en esta unidad, comuníquese con el maestro de ciencias de 7º grado de su hijo de inmediato.
Good evening 7th grade Spartan families. The Hesperia Unified School District offers a course of study on Sexual Health for middle school students. It is required that parents/guardians be notified prior to instruction. This curriculum will be taught through your child’s 7th grade science class, of whom the department chair will be available to answer any questions at the parent preview meeting on 5/2 @ 3:30pm in the CMS library. All students will be receiving a letter to be brought home to their parents this week with more information on this topic. If you have concerns regarding your child’s participation in this unit, please contact your child’s 7th grade science teacher immediately.

State testing is just around the corner. We will begin our testing on 4/20 and the final day will be 4/27. We need all students to be on time, well rested, with their Chromebooks charged. Please check with your child BEFORE we begin testing to make sure they have their charger and their Chromebook is in good working order. If your child needs a new charger or Chromebook needs to be fixed, please have your child reach out to Mr. Angel Jimenez at CMS ASAP. Any student who needs a new charger or has a broken Chromebook may be charged accordingly. Thank you. Go Spartans!!
Las pruebas estatales están a la vuelta de la esquina. Comenzaremos nuestras pruebas el 20/4 y el último día será el 27/4. Necesitamos que todos los estudiantes lleguen a tiempo, bien descansados, con sus Chromebooks cargados. Consulte con su hijo ANTES de comenzar las pruebas para asegurarnos de que tenga su cargador y que su Chromebook esté en buen estado de funcionamiento. Si su hijo necesita un cargador nuevo o un Chromebook necesita ser reparado, haga que su hijo se comunique con el Sr. Angel Jimenez en CMS lo antes posible. We're hiring! Stop by and check out our job/teacher fair on March 7th and 9th from 4PM-7PM.
We are aware of the snow in Hesperia and the surrounding areas. Students are safely in class, all schools are currently open and will continue under their normal bell schedules; however, we are working to help keep students indoors as much as possible. The weather service predictions are that the snow will clear at midday. We will continue to monitor the situation and road conditions and respond accordingly. If any changes are made we will communicate those changes to the community. In the absence of any further announcements, schools will remain open and dismiss at their normal times. We ask parents to plan for extra time when picking students up and to be as patient as possible as we all deal with the winter weather.

For those 8th grade students who are on an inter or intra district transfer to Cedar Middle School and plan to attend Oak Hills High School, you MUST fill out the inter / intra district paperwork during open enrollment which is now and closes on March 24th. Please do not miss this important date if you plan on attending Oak Hills High School for the 23-24 school year. Go Spartans
